“Craftivism” (Crafing + Activism) is making with the hands and giving with the heart.  It’s about opening the minds of people in the community to inspire a dialogue for change.  It’s about giving a voice to those who otherwise may not have one.  It’s about using beauty and the imagination to bring awareness to the overlooked people and problems – and the mundane environment – that go unnoticed in everyday life.  So, if you want to contribute to a ripple with the potential to make big change with the causes that matter most to you and your community, join this class!

Hey it's Suzie of oldendesigns that makes luminaries, does shows with you at the book arts center. I love the activist stuff, craftivist, very cool. I'm an art therapist, would love to talk to you more about your craftivist art projects! Check out my etsy shop, I was asked to partner with kindness u and the sandy hook foundation to create luminaries for the year anniversary of sandy hook dec14. It's called love wins and it's a stand against violence. Look for the love wins sandy hook luminary bags. Good luck at second storie!! Gotta apply to that next year! Www.oldendesigns.etsy.com

Suzie!

I'm just seeing this now - oh man, no idea how I missed it!

I would LOVE to talk to you about craftivism - your project with Sandy Hook sounds fantastic and totally up my alley. Hmm... I'm thinking we crafty types need to see each other more often than just when we're vending!

Let's make some plans! See you Friday! :)
